Vitamin B&C Morning Smoothie

🫐 Antioxidant Rich 🌅 Morning Boost 1–2 Servings
← Back to All Recipes

"This is the recipe I make when I want to feel abundant. Not extravagant — abundant. Like I am giving myself something full and generous. It takes five minutes and it tastes like summer."

🌿 Why I Love These Ingredients

Blueberries were the first fruit I started adding intentionally — not just because they taste beautiful, but because of what I noticed about my energy after. Mango gives this smoothie a tropical brightness that makes mornings feel like a small celebration. Banana brings the creaminess and the sweetness that keeps it satisfying. Orange juice in place of water adds a natural vitamin C boost that I've come to look forward to. Spinach blends in invisibly — you'll never taste it, but your body will thank you for it. This is the one I share most often when friends ask what I start my day with.

🛒 Ingredients

  • 1 cup frozen blueberries
  • ½ cup frozen mango chunks
  • 1 ripe banana (fresh or frozen — frozen makes it creamier)
  • 1 cup fresh orange juice (about 2 medium oranges)
  • 1 large handful fresh baby spinach
  • ½ cup plain or coconut yogurt (optional, for creaminess)
  • 1 tablespoon flaxseed or chia seeds (optional)
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract (optional — it brightens everything)
  • Small handful ice if using fresh fruit

🥤 How I Prepare It

1

Add the spinach to the blender first, then pour the orange juice over it. Blend on low for 10–15 seconds until the spinach breaks down — this prevents green chunks and makes everything blend smoother.

2

Add the frozen blueberries, mango, and banana. If using yogurt, flaxseed, or vanilla, add those now too.

3

Blend on high for 45–60 seconds until completely smooth and creamy. Stop and scrape down the sides if needed.

4

Taste and adjust. More banana for sweetness, more orange juice to thin it, more frozen fruit to thicken it. This is yours — adjust freely.

5

Pour into a tall glass or a wide bowl if you'd like to top it with granola, fresh fruit, or coconut flakes for a smoothie bowl experience.

💛 How I Use It in My Routine

Some mornings I drink this on the way out the door. Other mornings I pour it into a bowl, sit outside for fifteen minutes, and eat it slowly with a spoon. The recipe is the same either way — but the experience couldn't be more different. What I've learned is that nourishment isn't just what's in the glass. It's also how you receive it. I try to at least pause for a breath before the first sip. You might find even that small thing makes a difference.

✨ Variations to Try

  • Replace orange juice with coconut water for a lighter, tropical version
  • Add a teaspoon of spirulina or moringa powder for extra green nutrition
  • Stir in a tablespoon of almond or peanut butter for more staying power
  • Use raspberries or strawberries instead of blueberries for a warmer berry profile
  • Add ½ avocado for an ultra-creamy, satiating version
